AOCN members' Conference Call

The situation is very fluid in the current state of aviation industry with effect of Pandemic COVID -19. Different Governments have implemented different pre-cautionary measures and restrictions to protect its people and the spread of the pandemic. The aviation industry is hard hit with different challenges.

To discuss on the challenges and preparedness for the recovery of the services once the situation gets back to operation in Nepal, AOCN members had a conference call on 05 Mar 2020. Since, Nepal is in complete lockdown and government has advised for social distancing, the members participated in the meeting through web. The con call was participated from the airport representatives for different carriers from their Work From Home (WFH) set up.

Different aspects of the restrictions and the challenges and preparedness required after operation resume was discussed. Various health related preparedness and the pre-cautionary measures required to be in place were discussed including financial relief that could be provided by authorities to recover from this grave situation.

The follow up on the agendas discussed in the meeting is in process and similar meeting is planned in future when needed. The AOCN members stressed on the responsibility of everyone to participate in fighting this pandemic from their ends. Being in home who do not have operation right now, keeping social distancing and provide the services possible during this time is what everyone is going to do. The AOCN chairman, Mr. Sharad Chandra Kafle, thanked all the members for their valuable suggestions and input and concluded the call.
