Airline Operators Committee Nepal (AOCN) was established to address the shared concerns of airlines and other stakeholders operating in Nepal. As the unified voice of airline operators, AOCN liaises with authorities and stakeholders to ensure safe, secure, and cost-effective operations.

With a vision to enhance the customer experience at Kathmandu Airport and align it with global safety and security standards, AOC-N organized the Airport Conclave 2024 on 17th August 2024 at Soaltee Hotel. Hosted by AOC-N, the conclave gathered key stakeholders from across the globe, including government officials, airport authorities, technology providers, and industry experts. The event served as a vibrant platform for sharing insights, exploring new ideas, and forging partnerships aimed at driving the future of airport management and operations. The event centred on the future prospects of KTM airport and technological advancements in the global context. Our Invitees, the Industry Experts and Technology Providers- Collins Aerospace, SITA, ADB Safegate, EDIfly and Datasonic showcased the cutting-Edge technological advancements that have been introduced in global aviation, along with their products and services.

    The conclave featured keynote addresses from industry expert who shared their perspectives on critical topics such as digital transformation in airports, sustainability, and enhancing passenger experiences in an increasingly connected world. Mr. Sarik Bogati, General Secretary of the Board on Airline Representatives, delivered a presentation on “Key Drivers for Airline and Tourism Growth.” His in-depth analysis of tourism trends and neighbouring countries' national-level policies aimed at reviving tourism to pre-COVID level and beyond was particularly commendable.
     
  2. Cutting-Edge Exhibition: The event showcased the latest innovations in airport technology, featuring products and services from leading companies. Attendees had the opportunities  to explore advancements in automation, security systems, and passenger facilitations. Key Takeaways included:
    • Enhancements in airport operations, with a focus on optimizing touchpoints and reducing human errors through data utilization and automation, including the Airport Operations Database - AODB and Flight Information Display System - FIDS.
    • Promotion of e-visa systems to streamline border control and better meet stakeholder needs.
    • Improvements to the airside ecosystem, emphasizing real-time insights for better decision-making and more efficient apron management for aircraft turnarounds.

Removal of Threshold Reduction for Parallel Taxiway Construction at TIA (VNKT)

The project initially scheduled from 01 Apr to 31 Jul 2024. The AIP supplement 9/24 declared the completion of project and removal of threshold reduction effective 19 Jun 2024.
