GM, TIACAO felicitated

February 14 2020
Due to the unfortunate fire incident at TIA sterile area on 10 Feb 2020, the entire airport went into disruption. However, the TIA Airport pro-actively initiated the alternative measures to contain the erupted fire and arranged alternatives to continue the operation of the flights. The airport imposed the closure for 2 hours and only few international flights faced disruption due to this incident. Moreover, TIA accessed the situation overnight and with a continued effort from all the stake holders and authority, TIA managed to normalize the flight operation and boarding process by the end of next business day. The airport was back in operation from 12 of Feb with normal process.

To appreciate this prompt action by the TIACAO to normalize the flight operation and less disruption of the scheduled flight, Airlines Operator’s Committee Nepal (AOCN) felicitated the GM, TIA Mr. Debendra K.C. on 14 Feb 2020 at the Airport Restaurant, TIA. The AOCN chairman appreciated the leadership and alternatives in place by Mr K.C. to tackle this situation and the less affect to the operating airlines schedule which not only facilitated the customer to continue their planned journey but also saved airlines for additional costs which would incur in case of disruption.
